DESCRIPTION
The Lodhi Gardens were originally laid out in the 15th century during the reign of the Sayyid Dynasty, which ruled Delhi from 1414 to 1451. The gardens were largely neglected during the Mughal period and subsequently by the British. It wasn't until the early 20th century that they were rediscovered and restored.
After India gained independence in 1947, the gardens were opened to the public and have since become a popular destination for both tourists and locals. The gardens cover an area of approximately 90 acres and provide a peaceful oasis in the midst of the bustling city.
